The Massachusetts Health Insurance Mandate managed to nearly cut the number of uninsured nearly in half within one year. The reduction was triggered by the country’s most ambitious health insurance reform plans launched in Massachusetts, that requires all Massachusetts citizens to buy insurance or pay a fee. While today’s signs of success of the mandate are healthy, some issues are remaining: the Massachusetts state’s health plan is more costly than planned, and nearly 100,000 citizens have been fined.
